Balla tells the story of life between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, creating timeless, handcrafted jewelry that brings together Brazilian culture and contemporary design. Each piece starts as a wax sculpture and is carefully shaped by local artisans in Brazil — a slow, manual process that values technique, time, and care. It’s how we make sure every detail reflects quality, exclusivity, and sustainability.
Founded in 2024 by Julia Guerra, Balla was born from a personal journey — a return to essence. Moving from Brazil to Europe, Julia’s roots became more present, her memories sharper, and her cultural identity stronger. In this space between longing and belonging, she found the inspiration to create.
Balla is more than a jewelry brand; it’s a way to tell stories and express identity through meaningful pieces. Each design reflects a memory, a feeling, or a landscape from the tropics, brought to life in form and material.
We create timeless, minimalist jewelry that blends Brazilian culture with modern design. Crafted from 925 sterling silver and 24k gold-plated, each piece is meticulously handcrafted between Brazil and Portugal by local artisans. Every design honors craftsmanship, process, and the rhythm of nature.
Inspired by the raw beauty of the tropics — sun-kissed textures, flowing shapes, and the peaceful strength of the sea — our jewelry captures the essence of these natural elements. Based in Lisbon, we design pieces that bridge cultures, merging Brazilian heritage with European elegance.
Where it Started
Sustainability
At Balla Studios, sustainability goes beyond materials — it’s present in every design choice, production step, and the way we connect with the world around us.
We intentionally avoid mass production. Our collections are made to order or in small batches, which allows us to prevent overstock, minimize waste, and ensure that each piece is created with attention — never rushed, never excessive.
We collaborate with independent artisans who are fairly compensated and maintain creative autonomy, strengthening local economies and preserving traditional techniques in both Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon. Our partnerships are long-term, built on trust and shared values.
We also carefully consider every detail of our packaging: we use recyclable, reusable, or minimal materials whenever possible — because the experience of receiving a piece should reflect the same values as the piece itself.
For us, sustainability is an invitation to be more creative. A path that demands more intention, more transparency, and more humanity in everything we do.
